66 Ford GT40 MK.II
Reintroducing a staple in not just a little car manufacturer you might have heard of that goes by the name “Ford”, but also a staple in Le Mans and in general motorsports history. A machine produced and developed over a course of 3 years specifically to achieve one goal: crush Ferrari at Le Mans. It was a goal that was set out of pure rage by Ford’s own CEO at the time, Henry Ford II, after failing to buy over Ferrari - not to mention the amount of embarrassment that caused. Was the goal accomplished? Well after losing consecutively in 1964 and 1965, things changed in 1966 when they managed to place 1-2-3 in Le Mans of that year - with the help of drivers such as Ken Miles and Bruce McLaren of course. In other words, it was accomplished and was without a doubt a success, especially for a car manufacturer that had no experience in developing a Le Mans racecar prior to when the goal was set in 1963. In a nutshell, the GT40 MK.II was a car that prove to the world that Ford was capable of making a car that was fast, aerodynamic, sleek in design and capable of winning the rough and competitive endurance race that is the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in spite of experience AND in under 3 years. And if that is not enough to make you impressed, then I don’t know what will. Like alot of cars I've made, while you may not be able to get one in the future, atleast you get to own one in Minecraft with this addon.
• About project
A friend of mine and I have agreed to start a car series we dubbed the “Then & Now” series. Essentially, a car project series of both a car’s predecessor (“Then”) and it’s successor (“Now”). I have agreed to do the “Then” part whilst my friend does the “Now” part.
This is the first car for this series, Ford’s GT40, to which I’ve made the Le Mans winning GT40 MKII of 1966. I decided to go with the GT40 first as I’ve been requested by another friend of mine (PalmaGamer) to make a remastered version of the GT40.
My friend will make the successor to the GT40, the 2017 Ford GT and will post it to his account once he’s done with it. More information about our “Then & Now” series will be informed as time passes by with these posts. For more information you may join our Discord server - feel free to ask me (ashminggu / ashmingtwo) or my friend (Nate) in the server!

• Car History
"The Mk.II was rebuilt by Holman Moody in California to handle the 7.0-liter FE (427 ci) engine from the Ford Galaxie, used in NASCAR at the time and modified for road course use. The car's chassis was similar to the British-built Mk.I chassis, but it and other parts of the car had to be redesigned and modified by Holman Moody to accommodate the larger [...]" - Wikipedia

• How to open the doors & How to open the trunk
i) Doors
To OPEN the doors, right click the car and the doors will open. Right click again to get in.
To CLOSE the doors, right click WHILE shifting/crouching.
ii) Hood
To OPEN the trunk, right click WHILE shifting/crouching WHEN the doors are closed and the trunk will open!
To CLOSE the trunk, right click WHILE shifting/crouching.
In a nutshell, the concept is basically;
Right click/hold + Shift/crouch = Close/open the trunk and close doors
Right click ONLY = Open doors and to get in car ... (once the car's doors are open)
I've made a video showing how it's done so if you don't understand words, you can check that video out. The car in the video used is my previous Datsun 240z addon which shouldn't be a problem as the concept (animations, door and trunk mechanics and sound effects) are the same for this addon (GT40 MK.II).
• Regarding Mobile Revised
Starting with my ‘77 Pontiac Firebird addon, Mobile Revised versions will not have the ability to open the trunk. Door Mechanism 2.0 will still be implemented for Mobile Revised versions meaning you can still open and close the doors. This is to help optimize gameplay for Mobile users.
TL;DR: Mobile Revised versions do not have the ability to open/close the trunk, but you can still open/close the doors.
• Advanced sounds
In total there are 6 sound effects for the cars. The list are as follows:
Startup sound effect - When the player sits in the car
Driving sound effect - When the player drives the car
Custom car damage sound - When the car is damaged / takes a hit
Door closing sound effect - When the player closes the door
Door opening sound effect - When the player opens the door
Trunk closing sound effect - When the player closes the trunk
This addon DOES NOT REQUIRE (any type of..) EXPERIMENTAL MODE.
• How to obtain
Method 1: Get their spawn eggs from the Creative Inventory. They are classified as spawn eggs. You can search "GT40" or "Ford" without the " for a more convenient way of getting them.”

Method 2: Use /summon commands:
/summon gt40:kenmiles1
/summon gt40:brucemclaren1
/summon gt40:ronniebucknum1
/summon gt40:gulf1
